What is the SoCal Triple Crown?

The SoCal Triple Crown is our new series celebrating anyone who participates in any distance of the Carlsbad, San Diego, and America’s Finest City events in the same calendar year! Three races, four medals, the total distance is up to you!

How do I register for the SoCal Triple Crown?

You will need to register for each event individually:

Carlsbad – Marathon, Half Marathon, Double Down, or 5K – Register here!

San Diego – Half Marathon or 5K – Register here!

America’s Finest City – Half Marathon or 5K – Register Here!

Can I still do the SoCal 3×5 and Half Marathon Triple Crown?

No. Starting in 2023, the SoCal 3×5 and Half Marathon Triple Crown will be replaced by the SoCal Triple Crown!

What if I'm already working towards the SoCal 9×5 and TRIPLE Triple Crown?

Only those already working towards their 2023 or 2024 SoCal 9×5 or TRIPLE Triple Crown* can still complete their series. You will need to let us know if this is you by filling out this form by July 1st.

*This means you would already be a SoCal 3×5 or Half Marathon Triple Crown finisher in 2021 and/or 2022.

What is streaking and the streaker gift?

Streakers are those who complete the SoCal Triple Crown in consecutive years! Each year, the streakers will get a special gift at the final event, America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K.

Do I have to participate every year to get the streaker gift?

You will receive the streaker gift each time you complete the series in a consecutive year. Let’s use Ellen and Christine as an example!!

2023 SoCal Triple Crown – Christine completes the SoCal Triple Crown series!
2024 SoCal Triple Crown – Christine completes the series again and earns the 2024 streaker gift!
2025 SoCal Triple Crown – Christine can’t stop, won’t stop. She completes the series AGAIN and earns the 2025 streaker gift!
2026 SoCal Triple Crown – You guessed it! She’s still going and earns the 2026 streaker gift!

2023 SoCal Triple Crown – Ellen completes the SoCal Triple Crown series!
2024 SoCal Triple Crown – Ellen completes the series again and earns the 2024 streaker gift!
2025 SoCal Triple Crown – Ellen takes the year off running and sails around the world!
2026 SoCal Triple Crown – Ellen finds her land legs, gets back into running and completes the SoCal Triple Crown series!
2027 SoCal Triple Crown – Ellen completes the series again and earns the 2027 streaker gift!
