Yes! Registration will remain open from September to April. All memberships end in September.
In Motion Fit does not have a drop-in program. Our all-inclusive membership covers our coaching, training runs/walks and more.
The In Motion Fit running and walking club is an annual membership from September to September. Members meet on Saturdays for group runs/walks in San Diego or Carlsbad and also have the opportunity to participate in mid-week runs and social gatherings.
Although our program can be customized to meet your training needs, it is best used as an opportunity to train for all or some of the Half Marathon Triple Crown events;
– Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon, Double Down or 5K
– San Diego Half Marathon or 5K
– America’s Finest City Half Marathon or 5K
Yes! Walkers are welcome and enouraged to join in In Motion Fit. If training for a specific event, make sure to review the time limits before registering for the event. Of the Half Marathon Triple Crown events, only the Carlsbad Half Marathon is walker friendly.
In Motion Fit is not associated with a charity and you do not need to raise money to participate in this program. There are several good marathon training programs where raising money for a charity is part of the program. While these can be effective and rewarding, we realize that it’s not for everyone and may not be feasible to do year after year. Some of our members choose to raise money for a charity, but it isn’t a requirement.

No, your In Motion Fit registration fee only covers the cost of your membership. As a Fit member you will be able to register for the associated events at the “early bird” rates, but you will need to register and pay separately for any races you wish to participate in.
Yes, you should still sign up! Our coaches can get you up to speed when you are able to attend.
Sure! In fact, we encourage you to experience a race situation prior to participating in the race you’ll be training for.
Realizing that most people lead very busy lives, this program is one that can easily fit into your schedule. For the most part, the program calls for running or walking only 4 days a week. Your long run or walk will usually take place on Saturday. During the week, you run or walk for time only (i.e., 30 minutes) and for distance on Saturday.
During the week, we run for minutes. If the schedule says “30” on a Tuesday, you should run or walk 30 minutes. Do this at a comfortable pace unless instructed to do otherwise. On the weekends, we do miles, so the schedule will be in miles. Listen to your coaches on how to run these miles each week.
No, many members are unable to make every Saturday session. However, those long runs are a lot easier when you’re doing them with the group! And in our experience, the success of our members is directly proportional to their ability to attend the Saturday training runs. When you do have to miss a Saturday meeting, check this website for the next Saturday meeting time.
