1. Download and Complete our Race Plan Worksheet and Pre-Race Checklist

Thoughtfully designed by runners, for runners, our Race Plan Worksheet and Pre-Race Checklist will help you successfully plan and execute your next race. By answering these guided questions, the Race Plan Worksheet will help you identify your personal goals, plan essential logistics, and outline your pacing and nutrition needs for a successful finish!

2. Book or Confirm Accommodations for Your Run-cation!

Whether staying at our host hotel, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, or another local accommodation, make sure you know how to get your materials and get to your race start. Plan ahead, so you can rest easy and get that critical restful sleep the night before the race!

3. Mark your Calendar for the AFC Expo/Packet Pickup.

This year the AFC Expo/Packet Pickup will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the Eventide pavilion at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, located at 1380 Harbor Island Dr, San Diego, CA.

4. Check the Weather Forecast

Don’t get caught unprepared for race day weather! The historical average on race day is 68°F with 70-80% humidity. Regularly check for any forecast changes as the race approaches and pack accordingly.

5. Don’t Do Anything New On Race Day

The excitement of race day can make you want to change your habits and routines, but don’t do it! Coach Katie says to avoid new foods, clothing or shoes, and pacing on race day. Stick with what your body knows to have the best race possible.
