Virtual Walk

Can’t be with us on event day? That’s okay! Become a virtual participant and support the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego from home! Register to be a virtual participant and your event SWAG will be mailed directly to you by the end of September!

 

Team it up!

Team captains are key to the success of our event. Captains recruit participants, communicate with team members, and distribute materials including walk bib numbers and shirts to their team members.

 

Fundraising

We walk to raise much-needed funds to support the community outreach programs of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of San Diego. You can donate or create your own fundraising page here!

These outreach programs are aimed at raising awareness of ovarian cancer, the most lethal gynecologic cancer. Currently, there is no screening test for the early detection of ovarian cancer, and the overall 5-year survival rate is only 45%. However, when detected early, the survival rate is over 90%! Funds raised at this event will be used to support education and outreach to the general public, civic groups, organizations, and medical healthcare providers throughout San Diego County.  In addition to supporting our primary educational outreach program HEAR, we are continuing our successful program to provide financial support to Medical Fellows at UCSD School of Medicine with an emphasis on gynecological oncology. 

 

Team Incentives

Teams with 20+ registered members by 8/22/25 will have their team name printed on the back of their shirts!

Teams with 50+ registered members by 8/22/25 will get their team name on their shirts PLUS the use of a 10’ x 10’ pop-up, 8′ table, and two chairs as a meeting area on walk-day!

Teams of any size are encouraged to create a theme and show their spirit at the event! Get creative with matching socks, tutus, hats, sashes, signs, etc. 

 

Post-Walk Raffle

Each walker will be given one complimentary ticket with their event materials and additional tickets will be available for purchase during the event for $1 each or an arm’s length for $10. All tickets must be turned in at the Ovarian Cancer Alliance booth to be eligible for the raffle. The raffle winners will be announced beginning at 9:10 a.m. from the main stage and all winners must be present to win. Check out the awesome 2024 raffle prizes and silent auction items here!
