Half Marathon Legacy Program

The GOVX San Diego Half Marathon Legacy Program recognizes runners who make the race part of their annual tradition. Each consecutive year you run the half marathon, you earn exclusive gear and access to special Legacy runner perks!

The Legacy Program is simple. All you need to do is register for and complete the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon in consecutive years. No separate application or sign-up is required. We track your participation, and your Legacy status grows automatically. Beginning in Year 2, runners receive a Legacy star designation on their race bib. Year 3, you start earning stars on your race shirt and special gear. The more years you participate, the more stars you get on your bib and shirt* the more you show the community your years of dedication. Scroll down for a preview of all the Legacy program perks. 

LEGACY ZONE

On race day, all Legacy participants will get access to the Legacy Zone. A special area with extra treats, just for our Legacy runners.

LEGACY CLUB

Beginning in Year 10, runners are welcomed into the Legacy Club, an exclusive milestone experience within the Legacy Zone at the Finish Line Festival that honors a decade of dedication to the event, where runners receive the commemorative Legacy Club medal, enhanced amenities and special recognition reserved for those who have reached this milestone.

A highlight of the experience is the Legacy recognition wall, a custom step-and-repeat displaying the names of all runners who have achieved 10 or more years. Members can find their name, take a commemorative photo, and celebrate the commitment that sets them apart.
