The Carlsbad Marathon & Half may be virtual this year, but in true Carlsbad Marathon style, we’re kicking off our 2021 challenges in January. In addition to our full marathon, half marathon, and 5K distances, here are some additional challenges to add to your list:

• Carlsbad Marathon Double Down Challenge: Are you up for an extra challenge? Take on both the Carlsbad Half Marathon and Surf Sun Run 5K and earn mega bling!
• Half Marathon Triple Crown: This series recognizes dedicated half marathoners who complete three top-quality races in the same calendar year. This 13.1-mile threesome starts each year in January with the Carlsbad Half Marathon, followed by the San Diego Half Marathon in March and ends in August with the America’s Finest City Half Marathon. To be a part of the series, simply register and finish each of these events in the same calendar year. Finishers of the Half Marathon Triple Crown will receive an impressive commemorative medal as well as some serious bragging rights and a huge sense of accomplishment!
• TRIPLE Triple Crown: Participants will be eligible for a TRIPLE Triple Crown medal by completing the Half Marathon Triple Crown for three consecutive years. That’s right, on year three you will receive TRIPLE bling at the AFC Finish Line Festival, and at the end of the TRIPLE Triple Crown you will have received 13 medals!
• SoCal 3×5: The SoCal 3×5 is a chance to recognize our loyal 5K participants who complete a trio of 5K events: Carlsbad Surf Sun Run 5K, San Diego 5K & America’s Finest City 5K. Finishers of the SoCal 3×5 will receive a gorgeous medal (plus bragging rights)!
• SoCal 9×5: Our impressive SoCal 9×5 finishers will have completed the SoCal 3×5 for three consecutive years. 9 races, 13 medals, and all kinds of excitement!
