As our Official Race Headquarters Hotel, Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is rolling out a set of runner-focused perks to make your stay smoother and more relaxing.
Flexible Check-In and Check-Out
Race weekend schedules are not always standard hotel schedules. To help with early mornings and late departures, the hotel is offering:
- Early check-in options (for an additional fee)
- Late check-out options (for an additional fee)
This is ideal if you want to get into your room earlier the day before the race or take a shower and rest after the event before heading home.
Discounted Parking and Amenity Fee
Downtown parking and hotel fees can add up quickly. With the GOVX room block, runners receive:
- Discounted overnight and day valet parking (please note: there is no on-site self-parking)
- Discounted guest amenity fee, reduced from $35 to $17.50 + tax
What the Amenity Fee Includes
The discounted amenity fee still gives you access to all of the following:
- Upgraded WiFi for up to 5 devices (normally $14.99 per night)
- Access to the fitness center and rooftop pool
- Two complimentary bottles of water
- Unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls
- Printing and copying, up to 50 pages
- Public bike usage, based on availability

Room Block Details and Deadline
Our special GOVX room block offers runners a significant discount on a Margaritaville stay during race weekend. But hurry, rooms are limited, and our room block expires on February 23. After that date, rates return to standard pricing, and availability will be limited.
Because the hotel is typically priced much higher, the race block offers a meaningful discount off what guests normally pay, while still including premium amenities. It is the best way to stay close to the action without stretching your budget as much as a typical downtown San Diego stay.
