Virtual FAQ
Yes, it was decided on September 18, 2020 that 2021 Carlsbad would become a virtual event.
Anyone! That’s the beauty of a virtual event. Whether you live in Carlsbad or Connecticut, are a runner or a walker, you’re invited to participate!
You will have the option to pick up your packet or have it mailed to you the week of the event.* You will receive an email with additional details by January 8.
*Depending on your location, there may be a fee to mail your packet.
You can complete your race on your own time from the date you register through March 15, 2021.
Although not required unless you are participating in one of our series, you will have the opportunity to upload proof of your race and finish time starting event week. You will receive an email with a link to the form and it will also be posted on our website. Whether you’re qualifying for a series, maintaining TRIPLE Triple or SoCal 9×5 eligibility or want the accountability of submitting your finished run, all results are due by March 15, 2021.
You get to choose! You can do the actual course, map a course in your neighborhood or even run on a treadmill.
If you are submitting results, you’ll need to make sure you run the same distance as you are registered for.
We had hoped that the new year would bring races back to the road and that by now we’d have clarity on when large-scale events will be allowed to resume, but unfortunately we do not. Simply put, we cannot plan the caliber of event we’re known for in this uncertain climate and with such a short timeline. Our new virtual race will feature the same great swag Carlsbad is known for, but with special pricing.
Despite these unprecedented times, we’re looking ahead to 2021 and are excited to share what we have in store! We’ve got beautiful SWAG in the works for Carlsbad, a new middle event for the Triple Crown series, and an epic Triple Crown celebration planned at 2021 America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K in August to commemorate our return to the road and our 2021 series champions.
