2021 Event Update
Per the new CDC and San Diego County guidelines, it is recommended that everyone wear a face-covering in indoor public settings, whether you’ve been vaccinated or not. This will apply to the AFC Fitness Expo.
Shuttle mask guidelines – see 7.27.21 update below.
Masks will be required on the shuttle to the Half Marathon start and on the shuttles to and from the Sheraton. You can wear your own mask or the event will provide a disposable mask as you are boarding the shuttle. If you bring your own mask, please keep in mind gear check is only available through Mobile Locker. More information on purchasing a mobile locker can be found here.
Expo Mask Guidelines – Per the current State of California and San Diego County guidelines, people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to wear a mask. If you are not fully vaccinated, you need to wear a face-covering while inside the Expo facility.
The State of California has moved Beyond the Blueprint and fully reopened the economy, so we are moving full speed ahead on an in-person America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K! Virtual options are still available, and we will continue to monitor all information coming from state and national agencies. Register now and join us as we return to the road! Let’s do this!
While we are encouraged by the recent re-opening plan from the State of California, we are awaiting additional information and guidelines from multiple city and state agencies. We hope to have more information in the coming weeks and will continue to share updates as we have them. In the meantime, the price for the 2021 AFC Half Marathon and 5K will not increase.
Should 2021 AFC be unable to take place in person as planned, we will be offering our registered participants a choice of switching to a virtual participant or deferring to the following year.
